Amjad Hossain is Died
Popular Bangladeshi film director, actor, scriptwriter and lyricist Amjad Hossain is no more. He is died on Friday 14 December 2018 at aged of 76. Amjad suffered a stroke in November and was put on life support in a Dhaka hospital. Amjad breathed his last on 14 November at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Thailand.
According to report, the veteran director was taken to Bangkok on November 28 on a private jet plane for better treatment.
The veteran director was born on August 14, 1942 in Jamalpur. He debut his acting career in the film Tomar Amar (1961) and made his directorial debut as an assistant in the film Agun Niye Khela (1967). His directed movie were Agun Niye Khela, Julekha, Balyo Bandhu, Pitaputra, Koshai, Abar Tora Manush Ho, Nayanmoni, Golapi Ekhon Traine, Sundori,Sokhinar Juddha, Bhat De, Janmo Theke Jolchhi, Hiramoti, Dui Poyshar Alta etc. He was received lots of awards for his outstanding performance including Fazlul Haque Memorial Award, Uro Shishu Shahitya Puroshkar, Bachsas Awards, Bangla Academy Literary Award,Ekushey Pada and Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director twice, for the films Golapi Ekhon Traine (1978) and Bhat De (1984). He was also directed and acted many Bangladeshi TV dramas as well as Pagol Jobbor Ali, Jobbar Alir Takar Babsha, Bou Chor, Mental Jobbor Ali 2 etc.
